Player Profile: Nick Michaelides

Name: Nick Michaelides
Age: 31
Position: Def RCL / Mid RCL

Q. What scared you most as a child?
A. Wolves. The animal, not the team. Foxes. The animal, not the team. Owls. The animal, not the team.

Q. Who did you support as a child and who were you favourite players?
A. Liverpool, Ian Rush. I wasn't very imaginative. I'm still not.

Q.What's the funniest thing that has happened to you during a match?
A. Misjudged the bounce from a goal kick and learnt the other definition of "ball control". It wasn't funny at the time. Actually, it's still not.

Q. What's the worst thing anyone has ever done or said to you?
A. I'm not sure, but certainly the worst thing anyone has ever said to anyone else in the history of the world ever ever ever is that they went around sniffing dog turds. Most heinous.

Q. What makes you laugh and why?
A. Someone else experiencing the other definition of "ball control" just because it's not me.

Q. What talent do you wish you had?
A. I wish I could cross the ball properly. And I wish I could run up the pitch to attack then back down to defend several times without wanting to vomit.

Q. What is your best physical feature?
A. My mane of hair gives me the strength & skill of the legendary Samson. Kenny Samson, that is.

Q. What do you most dislike about your physical apperance?
A. My mane of hair because I can rarely see where I'm going.

Q. How do you think other people see you?
A. Quiet but reliable.

Q. And how do you see yourself?
A. Quiet but reliable.

Q. What do you consider your biggest attribute as a player?
A. I'm flexible and can play in several positions (I think I played in 8 different positions last season).

Q. What is your favourite way of relaxing?
A. Call me crazy, but I find sleep a good way to relax.

Q. Who do you knock around with from Loko and why?
A. I was at school with Ali and we've known each other for over 20 years. Plus, always a bonus, I don't have to pay him much to be my mate.

London FA Cup Draw

London Football Association Sunday Junior Cup 2nd Round
24th September 2006 10.30am KO
Norton 'B' v Lokomotiv Londres FC

The draw for this competition has been made and this is the second year in succession we have entered. Last year we suffered a 6-0 defeat at the hands of Europa in the second round, which is also our entry point this season. Not too much notice can be taken from last year, as a basic eleven made their way up to enfield for the game, and with players playing out of position it made it twice as hard to get a result.

This year the draw has been kinder and we will be playing in south London at the National Westminster Bank Sports Ground, which is located just south of Streatham off the A23.

Lets ensure that we take a full team for this game and do ourselves justice in this London wide tournament.

If I can find any information on the team we are playing then I'll post it here, but at the moment I am having no luck.

Pre-Season - Manager Julian Milne

"Hi Gents,

I hope you are all having a good summer. It is almost that time of year again when we dust off the old boots and prepare for another charge at the Barnesalona silverware. Our first game of the season is on the 10th of Sept.

Pre season will be similar to the preparations for the tournoi. Two training sessions and a friendly game. So please try and keep Sunday 20th Aug/27th Aug/3rd Sep free.

Other points to raise:

  • If you feel that your participation will be less frequent (or that you will not be playing at all) this season let me know so that I can take it into account when managing the squad size.
  • If you have a new email address or would like me to change any contact details for you (ie phone numbers etc..) then please let me know and I can update the database and possibly sell on your private information to advertising companies to make some extra cash for Loko.
  • If you are on the email list and would like me to stop the flow of emails responsible for jamming your junk mail box then send me a message saying 'bugger off' and I will remove you from the circulation list.
  • James and Pete have been organising Thursday evening kick abouts in the park so if you fancy an additional opportunity to get back into the swing of things then feel free to join in.

That's it for now, I will send out another email in the next few days confirming times/location for the training and keeping you informed of any other relevant news."

Julian
