Barnesalona League
Lokomotiv Londres FC 1 v Barnes FC 1
Honours Even In Local Derby!
An encapsulating contest between these two local rivals ended in a fair one all draw, as Loko shaded the first half, whereas Barnes shaded the second.
Loko started brightly and made a few great breaks early on that should have been capitalised on, Roger on a few occasions bringing the ball down on the edge of the area but just failing to created the half a yard of space needed to seriously test the keeper. Barnes had a few corners but only one shot in the first half which cleared Julians crossbar by a few inches.

Good interlinking midfield play around half an hour into the match sent Dale away down the right, who just beat the defender to the ball and whipped in a superb first time cross for Stephen (pictured above) to head in brilliantly at the far post.
A few good deliveries into the box by Dale, saw on one occasion Pete mistime a free header in front of goal when he could have scored with a firm contact and a teasing cross by Lineker was cleared off the line by the back-tracking defender for a corner.
Half-Time Score Loko 1 v Barnes FC 0
The second half was much different as the half of the pitch Loko was attacking was extremely boggy and it was a struggle to play the ball into feet and use the wings. A mistimed header by Rohan after an hour gifted the Barnes player a run on goal and Julian pulled off a superb save only for the rebound to fall at the feet of their centre forward Sebba who beat Jules and also Pete who was back on the line desperately trying to keep the ball out.
Barnes had a lot of possession for the rest of the half but didn't force Julian into a save for the rest of the match. They had a good opportunity at the end where their right winger shot over the bar from six yards when he really should have scored and that was about it.
Loko had chances to win the game, James hit a shot on the turn from ten yards out which whistled just past the upright, Roger ran through on goal and tried to round the keeper unsuccessfully, his ball across goal was latched onto by James but the Barnes defence put in a good last ditch tackle.
Dale then had two long distance free kicks from the left hand side, one was beaten away unconvinvingly by the keeper and the second one evaded everyone and went two inches past the far post, where any sort of touch by a Loko player would have resulted in a goal.
So aside from a lack of second half possession, Loko will be disappointed with the result and see this as two points dropped against a team they know they should be beating. Uncle Bob's next week in another big league contest.
