Loko vs Charlwood Village

Mistakes, 6 Goals & Defeat

" To Be Fair, They Are A Good Team "

Going into this game, barring the cup final, we were unbeaten in cup games for a full Calender year! We felt confident as the referee desended on our dressing room to tell us the team we were about to play were basically no good! However, Having two good players on the side sitting things out with injuries before kick off was always gonna hinder today.

The game started with strong pressure from Charlwood as they attacked us from the off. They held onto the ball well and traveled forward with intent. Loko had possession as Lee constantly turned there right back around as he passed him each time.

Against the run of play, Dave on the right delivered a corner low that Gary was attempting to reach at the same time as a Charlwood defender, who ended up putting the ball into the back of his own net. 0-1

Charlwood hit back almost straight away from yet again another corner that saw no one picking up a defender who headed home comfortably. 1-1

A superb ball in from the left found the head of Matt who finished well only for the linesman to flag offside, however after a little chat the ref overturned the decision. 1-2

Lack of concentration again from Loko let a long ball find its way across the pitch past of defence to find a Charlwood player who easily dispatched the ball into our goial. 2-2

Half Time

Once again we never got started! Again a corner came in and fell to the feet of an unmarked Charlwood player who, to be fair, finished with some power and accuracy as the ball rattled the top corner of the goal for what seemed quite a while. 2-3

Mackie went through on a couple of occasions one where he was intentionally fouled to prevent him scoring. Matt had two shots on goal and Stocker one. Barring this we never really made the link today between defence, midfield and forward so was presented with very few chances to score.

Late on as Loko pressed forward Charlwood broke and there center forward again finished well to seal the game.4-2

Full Time

Lokomotiv 2 - 4 Charlwood Village

Weekly Three Questions:

Did we desreve to win today? No

Did we put it in today? No

Man Of The Match?

The last few weeks it has been hard to pick a man of the match as performances have been in general good and on a par with each other. Today is pretty much the same except for the playing well bit. However this weeks Man Of The Match Award goes to Scott Bright. Never out jumped and never accused of not putting enough effort in, always reliable and very important to Loko!

Final Thoughts

Don't have time to criticize and be negative, but just going to say we all need to be better. As James pointed out from the side, the difference in performance from last week made us unrecognizable.

As the opening comment to this report explains, we did face a good team today. They were younger than us, fitter than us and wanted it more. They live in the sticks and have nothing else to do all week but play football.

We are still in two other cups and can do well in the league, we will be back next week on top form!
