Match Report: Castle Hill v Loko

Frost, 3 Pens & A Fat Linesman

" Winning is a habit, unfortunately so is losing "

The day started cold! Pitch looking frozen and every ball feeling like it's been pumped up to its max. The last time we played these boys we lost and it hurt. With Only 12 of us available today, it should of still been manageable and a second win for Loko looked good !

Loko, as usual, started well. Without Castle Hill touching the ball straight from kick off passing around, out to the left to James then Hayden through to Lee who's shot was narrowly over. Anything Lee can do, then big brother can do too, a venomous shot from Gary outside the box left the keeper pleased it rose slightly above the crossbar. James T , not wanting to be outdone, curled a trademark ball from the edge of the box that required a save from the keeper. Lee's turn again as a ball from Hayden played him through but his shot was wide of the left post .

Mason took the angry batton this week, as he made superb slide tackle after tackle after tackle, everyone of them inch perfect. The Castle Captain was not impressed with his tackling, and made this clear. Mason responded Zidane esk style !
This all reads well for Loko as we were on top with no response from the Castle kids! However..... a long ball down the Loko right led to a cross into our six yard area where a defending Neil attempted to clear as Tony attempted to collect. A Slice led to an Own Goal. 1-0
How could we be a goal down ?

As Loko started to argue amongst themselves  Castle Hill went long over the top, there number 10 at full speed was clattered by Tony on the edge of his box. Penalty!

Heads went down as their striker stepped up....Missed! He went left of the goal . Matt reminded us all, that was a let off, and to Switch On!!!!

Half Time

Ismail on for Danny like for like swap positionally. Great defensive challenges from Ish right off! Good Loko start to the half with James twisting inside and outside around two defenders on the left, then a ball through to Hayden who went round the right of the defender and through on goal only to be brought down. Penalty !

As per last week the captain Matt slotted comfortably to the left. 1-1

This was our game as Hayden played a ball through to put Lee in who went round the keeper and shot only for it to be cleared of the line by a defender. Pinball games ensued in their penalty box and scuffed shots reigned in the Castle Goal, but to no avail.

As Loko pushed and Danny came back on battling, Castle Hill were hitting us on the break. One through ball left one of their players through on goal as Mark Pulled his shirt to avoid him shooting. Penalty 3!!
A new taker smashed the ball to Tonys left. 2-1
Dave moved upfront so Lee could get on the ball and influence the game more as he does week after week.  A lovely taken free kick from Dave produced a good save from the keeper . 4 long balls towards Dave and James all called Offside by the Fat Castle Captain! Where they Offside? Two defiantly not! Would it of even mattered? We will never know!
Full Time

Castle Hill 2-1 Loko

4 penalties conceded and an own goal in two weeks, Not only do you have to take your chances in games, you need to mimimize your mistakes too. Loko are having a tough time at the moment doing this. I don't think one of the Castle  players would get in our first team, yet they have beaten us twice?

Weekly 3 Questions:
Did we deserve to win today? No
Did we put it in today ? (Collectively) No
Man Of The Match?

No one was outstanding today.
Masons energy, fierce battling and superb challenges, I feel, earnt him the award this week. ( He also lobbed the keeper after the whistle )

Be Patient Loko, it will come ! Not one team in this league is better than us. #fact
