Match Report: Loko vs Wilf Kroucher

Pre-season friendly
Sat 15 Aug 2015
Loko 0 vs Wilf Kroucher 3

IN THE WORDS OF THE SPECIAL ONE: "FAKE RESULT"

Getting a full team today was a bit of a struggle and we turned up on the day with only eight players plus Beni who got stuck on a delayed train. Thankfully, we recruited two Polish lads who were having a kick about at the ground (Jacek and Daniel) who were happy to make up the numbers.

The game was even for most of the first half with shining lights on our side including Dave K who was off on runs causing panic in their defence, all-energy Beni, Terry and Hayden.

Despite our many incursions in their half we never really looked like we were going to score though. They did on 41 minutes as a long punt down our right wing saw Marcel unable to kick into touch and their number 15 latching onto the rebound and rifling a shot just under the bar past Ismail.

Half time: Loko 0 vs Wilf Kroucher 1

In the second half, Wilf were very much in the ascendancy whilst Loko were running out of puff. On 67 minutes a pass down our left wing saw their winger cross the ball into the path of their lone number 12 forward. The ball got deflected as it got into the box and as Ivan was about to clear the ball, their number 12 clattered into him. For some very strange reason, the ref, who hitherto had been quite good decided that Ivan fouled their forward to everybody's dismay. Number 12 decided to take the law into his own hands, so to speak, and placed the ball low to Ismail's right into the empty net.

The ref did it again on 76 minutes as he failed to spot a blatant two-yard offside by the same number 12 who scored from just inside the edge of the box.

True, Wilf were better than us on the day as they strung many nice passes together but the 3-0 score was very harsh all the same,

Man of the Match: The award this week goes to TERRY who was our all-action hero against his Saturday team.

Line-up: Ismail - Jacek, Mark, Ivan, Marcel - Gary, Beni, Terry, Hayden, Dave K (then Jack, 75') - Daniel
