Loko off to Hungary to go one better than last year!


Ready for Hungary? Loko will soon be flying off to Budapest to go one better and win the trophy after being runners-up against the odds in 2014.

Newsflash: Loko received a fillip today with the annoucement that Roger, Scott and Ricky, 3 high quality players will be joining us on the tour!

Squad:
Despite Gary pulling out a week before the tournament due to a leg injury, the addition of Roger, Scott and Ricky ensure Loko are off to Hungary with a full squad.
The team now includes: Neville (GK), Rodney  Ismail, Ivan, Andy, Marcel - Beni, Roger, Dave, Matt - Scott, Ricky and Hakim, I have also asked the organisers to lend us some good local lads. Also, for those who know them, Paul Richardson and Steve Whiteley will be coming to the tournament as spectators but separately from our team. 

Insurance:
Although there are paramedics on hand at each tournament, you are responsible for your own insurance. You may want to apply for a European Health Insurance Card: 

Hotel:
Looking at the programme, the hotel is in the centre of Godollo and is called Erzsebet Kiralnye (Queen Elizabeth) and is 25 mns away from the centre of Budapest. See attached for the rooming list. Also, see here for pics / more details about the hotel:  

Arrivals:
For those of you arriving at 11:55 on the Thursday (Rodney. Ismail and Hakim), there will be a coach transfer with the Spanish squad and the cost will be 5000 Hungarian Forints (£12) to be paid directly to the organisers. If you don't want to go for it, let me know by return. For the rest of the squad arriving in the afternoon, we are awaiting news of a possible transfer, otherwise we can get cabs. For Matt and Dave, I understand that you will be making your own arrangements. For info about who arrives when, see the rooming list. Let's talk about the transfers back on Sunday when we are out there.

Footie environment and rules:
We will be playing our games on both a grass pitch and a 3G pitch. The organisers will ensure that all teams get to play equal numbers of games on both surfaces.  PLEASE NOTE THAT WHETHER PLAYING ON 3G OR GRASS PITCHES, NO METAL STUDS ARE ALLOWED!   The draw will be taking place on Friday morning. As a reminder, most of the players at this tournament are 30+ but most teams are very competitive ... We also get to play a lot of football over two days and it's knackering so make sure you keep yourselves very fit in the run-up to the tournament!
