LOKO SLAUGHTER RHINOS IN FREE-FLOWING ATTACKING DISPLAY

Match Report by Jack Wooding

Loko returned to Kings House to play a 'home' game for the first time since last December - and what a return it was.

We didn't have a goalkeeper and London Rhinos only had ten players but put up a very valiant display up until LUKE, stand in striker for injured Adil, scored a terrific volley on the turn to put us 1-0 after 30 minutes.

Before then, however, Rhinos were playing well for a side with ten men and bottom of the league. They were knocking the ball around nicely but lacked a real cutting edge up front and any attacks were repelled by the centre back pairing of Ivan and Neil with Marcel, Matt W, and stand-in keeper Lawrence excelling.

Matt W was making surging runs down the right wing, linking well with Hassan, Dave F, and Gary in the middle of the park, whilst James was creating chances for himself on the left wing, but poor finishing stopped us adding to our lead.

Half time: Loko 1 vs London Rhinos 0

Matt F said at half time we needed to continue knocking the ball around and chances would fall our way.

One change was made with Hassan being replaced by new player James. Loko started the second half attacking relentlessly, running at pace and purpose at the Rhinos' defence.

On 50 minutes we scored our second goal, the ball fell to LUKE who made no mistake with his second of the game.

On 55 minutes LUKE got his hat trick. This signalled a change with Jack W coming on for Matt W.

Loko now had the wind in their sails and smelt Rhinos' blood. Some of the opposition players visibly looked tired and not up for the fight whereas we wanted to end our penultimate game on a high.

After 70 minutes a ball was played into the box and deflected in by a Rhinos defender. 4-0 Loko.

Matt F, Gary and Jack W were now spraying balls out wide to Dave F and James to run onto and create chances as the Rhinos midfield started to tire. Neil was now playing as a centre-back turned striker with constant runs forward.

On 75 minutes, from a Dave F cross, new boy JAMES scored a great header from the edge of the box that flew over the keeper's hands into the far corner.

On 80 minutes LUKE scored his fourth and final goal, finishing low to the keeper's left.

The game now resembled more of an exhibition match. Now 6-0 up Loko started playing the ball around in triangles and only poor finishing when clean through stopped us adding more gloss to the victory.

Rhinos did occasionally get the ball forward but the defence stood firm with Lawrence in particular an unsung hero in goal.

The ref blew for full-time and the Loko players celebrated victory in the warm Chiswick sunshine. With one remaining game left against Rhinos, let's hope we finish the season on a high.

MOTM: Luke for his four goals, special mentions to Lawrence, Ivan, Neil, Marcel, and Matt W.
