Match Report: Parklife B vs Loko

Sportsman's League, Division 1
Sun 21 Oct 2013
Parklife B 1 vs Loko Loko 3

ALL THE (LOKO) PEOPLE, THEY ALL GO HAND IN HAND (VS) PARKLIFE

Loko needed to keep back from what was a very difficult cup game the week before and really show Parklife what we are really about.

Terry returned to the side and the gaffer set out a strong 4-2-3-1 formation. We went at them right from the whistle and they didn't like us playing high up with Terry and Matt winning a lot of balls in the middle and distributing the ball well to the wide men Matthew (Woody) and Mo.
Woody had the left back in his pocket for the entire first half and soon came up with chances when crossing into the box. Mo and Adil were also tearing it up and it wasn't long until we got our first corner. Mo whipped it in....Adil had a stab at it and MORRIS was in the right place at the right time to poke it home 0-1 to Loko.

Their centre back couldn't deal with Adil's skill and quick feet which led to a penalty as Adil was chopped down in the box as he went to turn inside on the CB. ADIL calmly picked up the ball and slotted home what was the most important goal of the match. 0-2 to Loko.

Matt then had some great Lampard-esque shots from outside the area well saved by the keeper and we were soon at half time having worked our socks off.

With not much going on in the first half apart from a deflected shot from Parklife which hit the post the defence of Neil and Ivan really had their work cut out after the half time whistle.
Parklife ended up being camped in our half for quite some time and they ended up getting their reward with an early goal when a shot from the edge of our box was saved by John who could only deflect it into the path of their winger who slotted it in from 3 yards out.. 1-2 to Loko.

Things were tough for the next 15 minutes and Parklife made changes to both their midfield and defence.
Their LB was lucky to stay on....not only for a high challenge on Woody but then absolutely clattering into Mark with a high challenge. The changes were well made and Loko were able to start countering again as Parklife pressed for a second.
Terry went to RM and went at their LB with an equal measure of gritty challenges. Mo and Adil got back in the game and when ADIL had the ball in the box he turned one CB inside out and then the second and dinked the ball past the keeper for a superb solo goal. 1-3 to Loko. Now all we needed to do was keep our composure and see the game out....of which we did.

A great first league win for Loko and a solid effort all round. We played well with the ball on the deck and should look to only improve on this and get our second win against Worcester Park Rangers (Woody's old club which he used to manage....which should make things interesting).

More fight and passion should see us win games like this. Perhaps something we lacked in our first league game.

Special mentions to John, Neil and Terry....a good spine for the team. Perhaps myself as well haha...i am writing this report after all.

MOM: I think it has to go to ADIL for a very good brace with the second goal being the best goal of the season so far (from what I've seen)

Let's stay fit and healthy lads. All the best. Matthew (aka Woody from now on)

Line-up: John - Morris, Neil, Ivan (then Andre 75'), Marcel - Mark, Matt - Terry, Mo, Woody (then Jack, 70')  - Adil
