Match review: Deportivo de Brentford vs Loko

Friendly
Sunday 29 April

Deportivo de Brentford 6 vs Loko 3

EXPERIMENTAL LOKO TEAM LOSE WATER POLO FRIENDLY

A makeshift Loko team (with only 5 regular players out of 12) played their last game of the season on a waterlogged pitch that survived the chop simply because the Railwaymen were keen for some practice and for the game to go ahead.

Loko played well right from the start despite the ball bouncing in funny ways time and time again. Loko were doing particularly well going forward with Kevin (pictured) revelling in his chance to impress up front but the Railwaymen had nothing to show for their efforts despite a sluggish Deportivo defence.

Loko conceded a soft first goal where one of our midfielders misplaced a pass to our defence and their forward pounced. This was followedd by a second goal shortly after that and then a third goal where Marcel tried to clear a cross from the left from the edge of our box but only managed to drill it into the bottom right hand side of Mo's goal.

Loko kept plugging away and got their reward when ANDREI managed to chip their goalkeeper from just inside the box.

Half time: Deportivo 3 vs Loko 1

The second half started with the same tempo but Loko conceded early but quickly reduced the deficit where a ball from the left was crossed into their box, Adil tested their keeper who made a good save only for ALEJANDRO to score from the rebound from two yards out.

At 4-2, Loko felt they were in with a shot but the defence got caught out again on two occasions. From our  our side ADIL managed to make the score more respectable with a well taken goal from the edge of the box.

Club Secretary Ivan said: "All in all, this wasn't a bad Loko performance but with so many regular players not available and the new ones not having time to bed in , there was very little chance of a long awaited first 2012 win."

Man of the Match: Said, who controlled the midfield very well today. Special mention to Adil, who played very well and scored a good goal.
