Captains Corner: November 2008

Those of you that were there this weekend will know that Roger has stepped down as Captain, I'd like to thank Roger on behalf of the entire team for fantastic service and the wonderful job he has done in his two years. I'm sure everyone will thank him themselves when they see him and let him know what a great job he did.

Stefan has been chosen as the new Captain and started his reign with a great result last Sunday. He was chosen because whenever he is on the pitch he is a natural communicator and no matter the score he is constantly trying to encourage the team to better standards, without letting this affect his performance. I hope you will give him your full support for the rest of the season.

There will now be a Captains Corner at the end of every month from Stefan to give you his views.

Your Captain Stefan Butler: (His view on Sundays game)

"A great performance all round in difficult conditions and against what is regarded to be one of the best teams in the league. We showed on our day we can match anybody in the league in all areas of the game and as it worked out in the end we were very unlucky not to have taken the victory and the three points which nobody could argue would have been much deserved on our part. I ended up with 5 stitches on my head for our troubles but worse things than that will happen I'm sure!!

One final point - well done to the Gaffer who on the day got the tactics spot on for the ninety plus minutes. We need to take this performance now into next weeks game and continue where we left off. When we play like that for 90 minutes we can beat anybody in our league - Come on Loko!!!"
