Players Not Turning Up
I would like to draw attention to an issue that has disappointed both Bryan and myself so far this season. That is players informing me they are playing and then not turning up either without notification, or if so notifying me at the very last minute.
This is not acceptable.
It is simply not fair on the players who do make the effort to come and indeed on myself. Any player who proves to be repeatedly unreliable (that includes being late) will no longer be picked for the team. As of today, players must notify me 12 hours before kick off if they cannot make the game or they will incur a 4 pound fine (ie next subs 10 quid).
If you are feeling unwell or are uncertain as to whether you can make the game, simply let me know and I can put you down as a 'marginal', as indeed several players did on Sunday. The club needs a squad of reliable and committed players if we are to move forwards this season and as such I will not be lenient in this respect. We play in a good league in a good area and no one should take playing in the team for granted if they cannot be counted upon themselves.
